Nieuws: Driessen Food integrates Egro, PIER24 and Terre & Mer

13-01-2022

Per January 31, 2022, we are integrating meat supplier Egro, fish supplier PIER24, and webshop Terre & Mer within our organization. By merging the companies, our customers can benefit from a broader assortment and extra space is created to better organize the production facilities, logistics, and processes. This allows us to further grow within the sectors of gastronomy and high-volume consumption.

Our management is very pleased with the planned integration. Christiaan Driessen: “As a result, we are growing with a considerable number of new customers and we are gaining an additional production site in Utrecht. This provides logistical advantages and extra space to further organize our production facilities and processes. Additionally, we acquire new expertise and it creates synergies. It gives us the opportunity to further grow in the coming years within the gastronomy and high-volume sectors, the segments on which we focus.

More Quality and Service

With the companies Egro, PIER24, and Terre & Mer, now under one roof at the Tennesseedreef in Utrecht, Driessen Food has a new production site. This creates space to better organize overall production, so that even more quality and service can be delivered. At the new location on Tennesseedreef, we will consolidate the production of meat, game, poultry, and fish.
Our existing location at the Zonnebaan in Utrecht will remain the home of the dairy department and the fresh produce department, including the vegetable cutting facility. In Tilburg, where we primarily produce the Christoffels convenience line, we will renovate. In Bunnik, we will renovate and expand. Here we will soon concentrate the high-volume supply for, among others, meal providers, cruise lines, airlines, and retail. To be able to expand, an adjacent plot has been purchased.”

Former Owners On Board

The owners and all employees of Egro, PIER24, and Terre & Mer remain involved with Driessen Food. Bart Jan Wijsman will be responsible for sales and marketing in the gastronomy sector. Fish specialist Jacco de Haan will take responsibility for the fish department. Both have earned their stripes in the field and are passionate gastronomes. It is great to keep them on board and to benefit from their expertise.

More Focus on Product Development

With our renewed team, we will soon put even more emphasis on product development, including our Christoffels convenience line and vegetarian and vegan products. We look forward to working together with great craftsmanship and passion to deliver the finest fresh products to the gastronomy and high-volume sectors.
