The official opening of the asparagus season is, as every year, on the second Thursday of April and lasts until at least June 24, on St. John’s Day. But the first asparagus spears have already been harvested. We work exclusively with AA 1 quality and also offer peeled asparagus from our own processing facility.
Direct from the Field
Our asparagus comes from the company Teboza. The foundation for the current company was laid in the years after World War II by Lodewijk Teeuwen. The third generation now manages the company. Teboza is involved in the development of new asparagus varieties, the cultivation and sale of asparagus plants, and the cultivation and sale of fresh asparagus. They do not grow asparagus alone, but together with a number of selected growers. These companies cultivate in a traditional, sustainable, and organic way.
By joining forces with selected asparagus growers, they are able to deliver high-quality, exceptionally fresh asparagus. The asparagus is classified based on thickness, color, straightness, and other imperfections. The superior quality (AA; 20-28mm and A; 16-20mm). In short: our asparagus comes directly from the field and has been harvested from the best asparagus fields.
